I increased my 401k contribution by 8% this week to reduce my taxes.

With so much volatility in the stock market bcuz i have my 401k tied into it, im thinking about just pulling some of it out to invest in some land. There's opportunity just opened up that i'm considering seriously in taking advantage in buying 10 acres next to my mom's property. I can see more developments moving out this way and it will only a matter of time before the value will increase significantly. If not then i'll have plenty of land to grow food.

I did some calculations and I decided to take advantage of the current low interest rate and am looking at some lake property. I want a place that my family can enjoy the water activities and be able to rent out to Notre Dame fans on Notre Dame weekend.

I think it's a wise move , EM. Look at the past decade of so many fraudulent money schemes going on one after another i just dont have much confidence in our financial institutions and politicians to do the right things. Some of the books i've read mentioned something about CIA have been setting up front companies like banks then steal all money then declared bankruptcy and left tax payers to pay for the scandals.

awhile back, I was listening to a report on NPR...stating that big banks took advantage of the free money from the government bailed out and bid on foreclosures in FL and CA. They did it under fake company names to hide from tax payers.

The books i've read mentioned Former high ranking CIA personel going on to work for front CIA companies like this gentleman , John Deutch , who was head of CIA back in 1990's when allegations of drug trafficking by the CIA was discovered.
